Next to the activities addressing the general public, Life Science Zurich also organises symposia and meetings for scientists.

As in previous years the industry exhibition and the poster sessions were an important part of the meeting.
In January 2011 Life Science Zurich organised the USGEB Meeting «Imaging Life» at the University of Zurich. The meeting focused on the newest imaging techniques.
In November 2010 a symposium entitled «Biodiversität - Eine Herausforderung des 21. Jahrhunderts» toke place at the ETH Zurich. The symposium's primary target audience was the interested public. The panel discussion at the end of the symposium was a cooperation with the Tages-Anzeiger.
The Symposium «Prion Diseases» took place in 2007 in honour of Professor Charles Weissmann and was therefore dedicated to prion diseases. Professor Weissmann's outstanding performance vastly contributed to the success of prion disease research in Zurich.
