Our main area of activities is the organisation of events for the public. A list of the ongoing and future events can be found in our Agenda. Some activities, such as the BrainFair, are recurring and take place on a yearly basis. Every year, in the third week of March, you are invited to attend panel discussions and talks and learn more about recent topics in brain research.
Since 2004 Life Science Zurich has organised several large events: the exhibition «Der gespiegelte Mensch», the Life Science Week «Werde alt und bleibe jung», the «Life Science Art» exhibition, «The Tree of Life» exhibition on the occasion of the Darwin Anniversary Year and the mummy exhibition «Mummies: man, medicine, magic». Informations regarding these projects can be found under Past Events. From 2006-2011 in autumn and winter a Science Bar was organised in the bar-bookshop sphères in Zurich. The Science Bar offered the unique opportunity to discuss directly with experts on research topics in an informal environment.
Life Science Zurich also organises scientific meetings. In Autumn 2007 for example, a «Prion Diseases» Symposium was organised in honour of Professor Charles Weissmann. Life Science Zurich was also entrusted with the organisation of the 2011 USGEB Meeting (Swiss Union of Societies of Experimental Biology) and the LS2 annual meeting 2013.
